I Staff Week 10/2025: International Academic Exchange at KPU

Kujawy and Pomorze University in Bydgoszcz hosted KPU Staff Week 2025 from 20 to 25 October 2025.

The event was designed as an international academic and cultural exchange programme for university staff, Erasmus+ participants and representatives of partner institutions. It combined meetings at the University, job shadowing, guided visits, cultural activities and participation in the “One World, Many Cultures” Congress.

KPU Staff Week created space for direct cooperation between international guests and the University community. Participants had the opportunity to learn more about Kujawy and Pomorze University, observe selected academic and organisational activities, exchange experience with staff members and discover Bydgoszcz as an academic city.

Purpose of KPU Staff Week 2025

KPU Staff Week 2025 supported international cooperation through practical meetings, staff exchange and cultural integration.

The programme was prepared to help participants:

  • become familiar with Kujawy and Pomorze University in Bydgoszcz,
  • meet academic and administrative staff,
  • observe selected university procedures through job shadowing,
  • exchange experience with representatives of other institutions,
  • learn more about local educational and cultural initiatives,
  • take part in academic discussion during the “One World, Many Cultures” Congress,
  • discover important places in Bydgoszcz and the region.

The event combined professional development with intercultural experience. This format is especially valuable for university staff involved in international cooperation, student support, academic teaching, Erasmus+ mobility and institutional development.

Programme overview

The Staff Week programme included activities at the University, visits in Bydgoszcz and the region, workshops and participation in a congress.

The first day introduced participants to Kujawy and Pomorze University in Bydgoszcz.

The programme started with a welcome meeting and an ice-breaking session. Participants were shown around the University and took part in job shadowing, which allowed them to observe selected organisational and academic activities.

This day was focused on integration, orientation and first contact with the University environment.

This part of Staff Week helped participants understand the local academic, educational and cultural background of Kujawy and Pomorze University.

Wednesday was dedicated to activities outside the main University campus.

Participants visited Brzózki village, where the programme included a lecture for students, a trip around the village, exploring Van Gogh-inspired murals, a coffee and cake break and workshops.

This day connected academic exchange with regional culture and community-based learning. It also gave participants an opportunity to experience local initiatives beyond the University building.

The final day of KPU Staff Week 2025 was connected with the “One World, Many Cultures” Congress.

The congress included participant registration, official inauguration, a plenary session and thematic conferences. The inauguration was led by prof. Helena Czakowska, PhD, KPU Rector.

The programme also included the theme “Erasmus+ students as chefs of their home cuisines”, which connected academic exchange with intercultural presentation and student involvement.

Saturday gave participants an opportunity to take part in a broader academic and multicultural event organised at Kujawy and Pomorze University.

Academic and cultural value of the event

KPU Staff Week 2025 was not limited to formal meetings. It combined staff mobility with cultural discovery, academic discussion and practical observation of university work.

The event supported:

These activities helped international guests experience the city from different perspectives: academic, cultural, historical and social.
